Bolivia

Samantha Mendoza

“Chess is one of the most important things for me, I started it when I was 10 years old and 5 years later I got a place for the olympic chess team, one of the youngest girls to get it in Bolivia. It taught me that when you really want something you have to work hard to get it. Thanks to chess, I know many friends, cultures and the world in general. Now, I keep playing chess competitively but also teach chess to kids and try to show them how chess can open for you a whole world of opportunities. I really can’t imagine my life without chess. “
